Ranger Certificate

Certificate objective

The Community Rhino Guardianship Certificate supports a number of local indigenous rangers in Namibia, who protect some of the last truly wild black rhino left in the world. By purchasing these certificates, you'll be directly funding the protection of this critically endangered species and the indigenous rangers who care for them. So not only are you contributing to the preservation of this incredible animal, but you're also supporting the local people who are working hard to protect it.

Issuance methodology

To create a Community Rhino Guardianship Certificate, certain criteria must be met based on a specific model.

Effort

Targets are set for kilometers walked and active days in the field doing black rhino anti-poaching work.

Deliverables

Targets are set for black rhino sightings counts and the diversity of black rhino seen. By diversity we mean the number of different individuals seen (and not just the same one).

The Effort and Deliverable have threshold criteria set, and the issuance logic is calculated in the following manner:

Effort targets are each met at 100%

OR

Deliverables targets >= threshold % on average and the Effort average > threshold %

OR

Deliverables targets >= threshold % on average and the Effort average > threshold %Average of Effort & Deliverables are > a predefined threshold
